Bathrooms

A good friend of mine said that you are able to judge a good restaurent or business by the quality of their bathrooms. I personally agree with this comment because throughout my travel most of the fancy expensive places have nicer, cleaner and bigger bathrooms. Some even include sofas, fireplaces and fancy toilet seat covers. I'm not sure if its the same in mens batherooms as it is in womens but in my experiance the statement mostly holds true. Today I was puzzled by my work's bathroom. It was clean, smelled good (they had an automatic realease air freashener and had fancy tiles. However what I found interesting is that there were 3 bathroom stalls, 5 sinks and 3 napin disposal units. Now why on earth would we need the same amount of napin disposal units as we have bathroom stalls? Moreover do we really need 5 sinks? Are they trying to rush us when we're doing our business in the stalls but slow us down while we are washing up? Also what's odd is that all three of my coop term work places have had three bathroom stalls. Yes that's right, a bank, the government and an accounting firm have all come to the conclusion that women need 3 stalls in each bathroom. I wonder what mathematical explaination there is for 3 being the magic stall number???

I don't know about the three stalls, but many women's bathrooms have more sinks than stalls because a lot of women (especially at work) will go to the bathroom to 'touch up'. I know I used to brush my teeth after lunch and sometimes re-do lipstick and such, so the extra sinks are for those people I guess. Sadly my work was the opposite - four stalls, two sinks...but a lot of mirrors!
