Conversations

I have recently been fortunate enough to have had some good conversations. I feel it is very important to have these conversations which usually involve challenging believes, norms and in general ourselves. Don’t get me wrong I hate preachers and those you try to change your way of thinking and especially those who judge you for it. But I mean more along the lines as those who provoke thought.

I feel that because I enjoy these deep conversations so much it has actually affected who I end up becoming friends with. Usually it seems that people’s comfort friends are those who are similar or at lease have similar traits/interests or beliefs as yourself. I have never been too close with those who are like me. I never really understood why it is that my friends especially in high school where opposite of me. After pondering this question, I seem to get along better with those who are opposite of me because I find them interesting and they provide a new insight into life. I really wish it was normal to have tea time these days… I would love to have that back as a norm so we could make the effort everyday to engage in a good conversation (not gossip but actual conversation).

Let's re-instate afternoon tea!!!
But see that's what was so cool about my and omy's chai nights. I think tea is a stimulant to good conversation.
