High Rises

Being born in a smaller city something about Toronto definitely takes my breath away. I know it sounds silly but every time I see the huge, bold downtown office building it always leaves me thinking. There are many things which I find interesting about these tall structures. The biggest most unique of these is the grounding effect that the environment has. You are just one in a couple million. I see that there is no way that anyone who lives and or works in such large cities and especially around this type of environment can be self centered; it not possible to stare up at a 70 floor building and assume that you are on top of the world.

This past weekend I had the amazing opportunity to lay down and look up at the towering building above me and see their roofs among the two stars. Not only was the weather perfect and the view was spectacular. I was also surprised and how safe it was. In a city where I hear numerous police, fire trucks, ambulances everyday I could still wonder around in the middle of the night and feel safe among the countries financial ghetto environment.
